On 11 December 2023, the jury members of the PARM Stories Challenge have officially revealed the winners and finalists of the first edition of the challenge. The international campaign received a high participation of over 40 journalists, filmmakers, and media professionals from Africa and the diaspora.
After the deliberations, Pascal Ishimwe, a Filmmaker from Rwanda, has been qualified as the 1st winner of the challenge. Then comes Steven Costa Midjola, a Filmmaker from Togo as the 2nd winner. Aboubakar Dewa, a Journalist Reporter from Cameroon has been qualified as the 3rd winner.
The seven other finalists are:
- Eliya Dzowah, Freelance Videographer (Malawi) – 4th position
- Yacine N. Seye, Environment Media Specialist (Senegal) – 5th position
- Sixth position: Carolyne Tomno, Journalist (Kenya) – 6th position
- Seventh position: Sharon Ambani Tamba, Journalist (Kenya) – 7th position
- Eighth position: Djibo Mamoudou, Communication Officer (Niger) – 8th position
- Dennis Avokoywa Chagala, Journalist (Kenya) – 9th position
- Baron Nkoy, Journalist and Filmmaker (Democratic Republic of the Congo) – 10th position
